Hi!  I’m Caitlin.

I’m a researcher and team-builder passionate about products and programs that generate opportunity and make the world brighter. I love identifying the right research method to answer questions, interviewing and learning about people, and statistical analysis and visualization. My ideal work environment combines a learning phase with taking action. I enjoy managing and coaching diverse teams and facilitating the conditions where others can do their best work.

I started my career with the United Nations Environment Program working on poverty reduction in climate change mitigation strategies. I then moved to financial inclusion, building global teams to study how people living below the poverty line manage their money. After working on Facebook’s mobile financial services efforts, I was motivated to contribute to regulation and work more locally and joined the State of California’s financial regulator. I’ve also built a small research and data science team at an employee health company.

Currently I offer consulting on UX/UI, user research, and data science strategies with a focus on emerging markets or early-stage startups.

Outside of work, you can find me on an outdoor adventure, reading literary fiction or sci-fi, playing bluegrass fiddle, or dabbling in foreign languages.
